Assistant Brewer / Lead Cellarperson

Role Summary:

The Assistant brewer/lead cellarperson position here at Mully’s Brewery is responsible for day to day operations in the Brewhouse and Cellar to complete necessary jobs by working directly with our Head Brewer. This includes but is not limited to wort and beer production, barrel aging, dry hopping, cleaning and sanitation. This is a full-time position in Prince Frederick, MD and is a perfect position for someone with some brewing experience looking to take the next step in their brewing career.

Essential Responsibilities:

– Completion of daily coldside operations, including but not limited to, keg management, cellar operations, and working alongside our Head Brewer

– Closely monitor the fermentation and brite process at all stage of production

– Adhere to existing SOP’s and contribute to the refinement and drafting of new SOP’s

– Coordinate with Head Brewer to track raw material inventory including coldside additions, as well as ingredient ordering, organizing, and handling

– Coordinate with our Head Brewer to assist in hot side wort production when necessary

– Coordinate the timing of cold side additions (dry hops, fruit, etc), tank crashes, transfers and fitness for packaging

– Track pH, gravity, clarity & ABV of beers in progress

– Coordinate with the team to ensure beer is ready for packaging on time at the correct temperature, pressure and carbonation

– Oversee and complete timely CIP and COP procedures on fermentation vessels, kegs and miscellaneous equipment to execute transfers 

– Complete, accurate, timely and detailed filing of required paperwork 

– Enforce safe chemical handling procedures, including personal protection equipment such as gloves, boots, and safety glasses

– Maintain and manage a clean and organized workspace throughout the day and at the end of shift

The best candidates for this position will have:

– 6+ months of production brewery experience 

– Critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills while working under pressure, and adapting to potential changes 

– Mechanical aptitude

– Good interpersonal, communication & management skills

– An ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack

– An ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs

– An ability to regularly lift/carry heavy supplies such as 55lb sacks of grain

Job Type:

– Full Time


Base Salary: $35K + dependant on experience

– PTO: Starting at 2 weeks per year

Beertender - Part Time

Mully’s Brewery is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fulfill the part-time position of Beertender in our Tasting Room. This position requires excellent customer service, knowledge & passion for craft beer, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • 21 years or older
  • Love of Craft Beer!
  • Educate customers about craft beer and Mully’s products
  • Effectively use POS system
  • Maintain cleanliness standards
  • Ability to represent Mully’s at off-site events when needed
  • Friendly and welcoming personality and a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask when environment is fast-paced and take initiative when environment is at a lull

Qualified candidates should possess the following:

  • TAM certified
  • Basic knowledge of beer and the brewing process
  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server or higher


  • Ability to stand for long periods throughout shift
  • Ability to frequently reach with arms, stoop, kneel and crouch numerous times during shift
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (60+ pounds) safely
