About the event

Are you the pitmaster? Has someone just not truly lived until they've had your ribs? Do you know how to smoke it with the best of them? Here's your chance! Mully's BBQ Cookoff will let you showcase your skills with a judging panel of your fellow beer-drinkers. There are categories for Pork, Beef, and Chicken and it's free to enter, so choose your protein & join in the fun!

When does everything start?

The competition is set for Saturday, September 7th. Entrants must have their BBQ here & ready to serve at 4pm, when tasting begins.

How many people am I cooking for?

We ask that you bring enough food for 30 tasters. If you choose to bring more, it will certainly be enjoyed!

Are we cooking on site?

You are encouraged to prepare your BBQ wherever you're most comfortable (like your house) and bring it to the taproom ready-to-eat. While you are allowed to cook at Mully's, it is not our intention that the BBQ be cooked on site and there won't be any dedicated spots for smokers or other equipment.

Can my entire crew enter?

There are a limit of 15 entry positions, 5 for each type of meat (beef, pork, chicken). You are welcome to put forward one entry as a team, but you'll also have to share any prize with your team. 😉

Can I enter something other than meat?

The main component of your entry should be meat. For example, meatballs in sauce work, smoked queso does not.

What is Mully's providing? What else should I bring?

We'll have plates/bowls, plasticware, and napkins in addition to our always-awesome craft beer. You should bring serving utensils and any sides (like buns if you're intending to serve sliders or sauce for topping).

What's the prize!?

There will be 3 winners, one for each type of meat (beef, pork, chicken). Winners will receive a Mully's gift card, as well as possibly some other goodies TBD.

I don't want to enter, I just want to eat!

The first 30 people will be allowed to taste BBQ entrants and vote on the best for each category. Voting spots are first-come, first-served. Any leftover meat after that will be fair game for all.
